Samridhi Swarup is a Grade 10 student at Oberoi International School in Mumbai. She is studying the IB program and is pursuing Extended Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Digital Design. Her academic foundation is also enriched by her extracurricular commitment as captain of a robotics team, where she has competed at the national level for robotics competitions and received the Engineering Inspiration Award.
Samridhi has a great passion for engineering solutions to social challenges, which has developed through her extensive robotics experience. Her experience in creating automated solutions and building with technology has broadened her awareness of how inventively applied technology can be used to solve real-world issues in community improvement. She is also an active member of the Forensics Club at school and has served as a mentor and supported debate and elocution for mentees.
She has a deep commitment to social action. She has co-founded several initiatives, which include Robotics as Therapy, an initiative that connects STEM education with direct mental health support, and the Generations Project, which engages caregivers of elders through partnerships with organizations.
Drawing from her passion for engineering and commitment to social change, Samridhi founded BlueLoops to tackle water accessibility issues through innovative filtration systems, quality testing methods, and community education programs. In her spare time, she practices the electronic keyboard and competes in squash.
